Iași, 10th of May 2014. The eighth edition of the Student Technical Competition, organized at the Continental facility in Iaşi gathered this year over 100 future engineers, students of technical faculties. The event, organized on the 9th and 10th of May, was dedicated to all students of technical profile faculties, who wished to test their knowledge and respond to an interesting technical challenge, which can be their starting point for building a successful career in the field. Continental offered prizes of a total amount of 2700 euro: Ist place - 1100 euro, IInd place – 800 euro, IIIrd place - 500 euro as well as the special "Electro-mobility Online" prize amounting to 300 euro. This was granted to the team that managed the best sustained self-promotion and promotion of the Electro-mobility 3 student competition.

The senior challenge, for students who passed the first year of studies, was launched in October 2013, when students of technical faculties in Iaşi, Suceava, Bacău, Galaţi and Chişinău were proposed a new thinking topic under the name "Electro - Mobility 3 – Humans and Machines". After the review of proposed projects, 30 teams, were accepted, out of which 20 were from the Gh. Asachi Technical University of Iaşi, one team from the Grigore T. Popa Medicine and Pharmacy University of Iași, 2 teams from the Technical University of Moldova from Chișinău, 4 teams from the Ştefan cel Mare Technical University of Suceava and one team from the Dunărea de Jos University of Galaţi. Continental financially supported 25 of the qualified teams with the total amount of 5000 euro.

“Over 60 of the winners of previous editions became our colleagues and this gives us joy and confidence that this project continues to gather once a year the technical talents of the region. Our expectations were at the corresponding level: they worked as teams, shared their knowledge and finally, were happy to see their cars reach the finish line” stated Marius Lupu, Continental Manager in Iași.

The winning team was team no. 13 in the contest - DINO - - Gh. Asachi Technical University of Iași, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, with team members: Barcan Roxana-Adriana, Potoc Teodora-Simona, Timofte Alexandru-Iulian, coordinating teacher Dobrea Dan Marius
