Iași, May 15 2017. The new trend of the automotive industry – autonomous electrical car – was the subject of the Electro-Mobility competition that took place this year. 25 teams (100 students) from Suceava, Iași, Cluj, București and Chișinău have competed in the grand finale that took place in May 13 2017. The students had the chance to work at a complex product that took them through all the development stages of a project and gave them the chance to team up with young enthusiasts of technology. Continental has settled a great part of costs required for participation for the finalist’s students.

„Electro-Mobility is constantly growing. This year we had the largest number of teams signed for the competition, 61, from which 25 qualified in the final. “Their scores were the highest in the 11-year history of the contest. Participants in Electro-Mobility are tomorrow’s specialists, people who set new trends, future colleagues who, through Continental, are developing new ideas in automotive and generate industry growth through their innovative ideas”, said Marian Petrescu, director of Continental Iasi location.

The winning team was „InelX“of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of “Ștefan cel Mare” form Suceava with team members : Gherasim David, Maciuc Alexandru, Prodan Dragoș Mihai, Dumitru Chislii. Coordinating teacher: Remus Prodan.

"We participated last year at the competition, shy, less knowledgeable but ambitious and eager to learn. We got courage, and this year we set out to climb the podium, which we did. We can say that our work within Electro-Mobility has been beneficial to us and will be of real help and help in our career. We were asked "What was the key to success" for us - we believe there were several factors: a lot of work, a dedication to what we did and an engineering approach to the concepts used. "“, stated the members of the winning team.

The winning team received 1.100 euros, 800 euros received the students on the second place and 500 euros– the last ones on the podium.
