Iaşi, 15th of May 2010 – Continental Automotive Iaşi, subsidiary of the Continental Corporation, one of the most important suppliers in the automotive industry, opened its gates to visitors on the 15th of May. The event, reaching its 5th edition, is focused on students, through the Student Competition, but it is also focused on professionals in the software, hardware and mechanics fields, who wish to know the challenges and novelties offered by the global automotive industry.

Starting from a new concept, Continental Automotive Iaşi proposed to students of technical faculties in Iaşi, Suceava, Galaţi and Chişinău three thinking topics:
· Target race - drive an electrially propelled car and stop precisely on target
· Active electric motor control for high dynamic environment
· Power Closing with CFL

Likewise, Continental Automotive Iaşi offered each participating team the amount of 80 euro to support projects developed within the competition.

The team that managed to program a racing car that would stop in a certain spot was one of the teams from Suceava, from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, consisting of Boghi Constantin, Crăciun Andrei Cătălin, Filip Daniel. Coordinating teacher: Ciufudean Călin.

The winning team within the second project was from Suceava, from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, consisting of Bîrsan Valentin, Chirilă Dan, Fodor Alexandru. Coordinating teacher: Eugen Coca.

The final project was best developed by a team from Iași, from the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers, formed by Antoniu Gabriel, Baitoiu Vadim, Ciofu Dragoș. Coordinating teacher: Alexandru Bârleanu.
